The Medical Radiography program offers potential candidates the opportunity to complete an Associates of Applied Science degree in Medical Radiography. This program serves as a means to address the current and future shortage of Radiologic Technologists, R.T. (R) in Virginia and nationally to meet society’s need for increased numbers of highly skilled and knowledgeable Radiographer professionals. |

| In 18 months a student at the Greensboro, NC or Newport News, VA campus can earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Medical Radiography. At the Newport News, VA campus, the program is accredited by the JRCERT (Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology). Newport News, VA campus graduates qualify to sit for the national exam of the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists). |

| Graduate Responsibilities |
Radiographers are eligible to seek additional education and experiences
in advanced imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, Mammography, Nuclear
Medicine, Radiation Therapy, Ultrasound, Bone Densitometry, Interventional
Technology, and others. In addition, some of these modalities are
combined with additional college level courses in Bachelor degree
programs. Alternatively, graduates may seek other Baccalaureate
degrees that offer advanced placement for Radiographers, some of
which are available online. |
